FUNDRAISING

PUGET SOUND FESTIVAL OF BANDS

Band Booster fundraising serves two purposes.  The first is to cover the Boosters’ operating costs for the year.  This money goes to supporting the Band Director’s budget to continue to maintain a quality music program at CHS.  This money is raised primarily through the PUGET SOUND FESTIVAL OF BANDS (PSFOB).

The PSFOB is a marching competition sponsored by the Band Boosters and CHS.  Marching bands and color guards of all sizes, from all over the state and Pacific Northwest, travel to Everett Memorial Stadium and pay a fee to compete.  Judges are hired for the all-day event.  Concessions and souvenirs are sold.  Hundreds of CHS band family volunteers are needed to make this event a success so all families are expected to participate.  The profit made from this event goes directly to the Boosters General Fun; however, families are offered the opportunity to raise funds for their students through ad and trophy sales.  This event is what allows the Boosters to support music at CHS.

The festival this year is scheduled for October 27th.  Sign-up sheets will be available at the picnic and at all Booster meetings.  More information will be coming on the website and newsletter.

YEAR-ROUND FUND RAISING

The other fundraising opportunities listed below are offered by Boosters to allow families an opportunity beyond ad and trophy sales at the PSFOB to earn money for their students.  The majority of profits made from these fundraisers go directly into the accounts of the students who raised money.  A small percent goes to the Booster to offset operating costs.  Participation in the marching band and color guard involves fees, and the opportunity to travel.  The goal of these fundraisers is to offer families opportunities to offset band and color guard expenses.

8/1 to 9/8: Band-a-Thon:  Straight donations with 80% in student account and 20% in band boosters. Print out Band-a-Thon Form on the website:  www.cascadesound.org.  Any questions about the Band-a-Thon should be directed to Melanie Matthews at 425-870-5360
